Follow the instructions below to have a successful appointment. |
1. Blood Draw: Please have your blood draw completed 1 week prior to surgery (No later than Thursday the week prior) to prevent delays or rescheduling
2. Drive & Help: A responsible adult must accompany you to and from your appointment. You will need assistance at home after surgery for at least 24 hours.
3. NPO: Please do not eat or drink anything after 4 HOURS PRIOR. (No Coffee, water, tea or milk the day of the procedure)
4. Arrive: 1 hour before your appointment time for pre-registration, this is critical to ensure your procedure or surgery is timely.
5. Insurance Card and Photo ID: please bring these items to include any secondary insurance you may have.
6. No Valuables: Please do not bring anything valuable with you; no jewelry, no money, etc.
7. Hygiene: Shower the morning of your appointment. Please do not wear any fingernail polish, cologne, perfume, creams, or lotion. Do not wear dentures, (bring your dental cup)
Do you take long-acting Insulin?
Are you taking blood thinners such as below? If so, HOLD for 3 days PRIOR to surgery
Coumadin (warfarin), Jantoven (Warfarin), Eliquis (Apixaban), Xarelto (Rivaroxaban), Pradaxa (Dabigatran Etexilate), Brilinta (Ticagrelor), Savaysa (Edoxaban), Zontivity (Vorapaxar).
Are you taking Metformin? Do you have Kidney Disease? If so, HOLD for 3 days PRIOR to surgery.
Are you taking Aspirin or Plavix daily? If so, this is safe, and you can continue taking it as usual.
Are you taking Blood Pressure Rx’s? If so, be sure to take them the morning of your surgery or procedure with a small sip of water (not too much).
